Be Skin Savvy #7 – Exfoliate! Dead skin cells are complexion enemy #1. They build up on the surface to create an ashy complexion in more mature skins, and clog pores on an oily t-zone or acne prone skin. The choice of treatments and options for in-salon use and at home are endless. A general rule of thumb at home is to use an exfoliating cleanser once (or twice) a day depending on skin type, and a scrub at home once a week. Use a glycolic product for dry skins and salicylic ones to unclog pores. In the facial room I regularly incorporate scrubs, enzymes and peels to unveil softer, smoother, clearer and even toned skin.
